New Era of Space Medicine for Space Tourism : The Present Status and the Future Direction of Japan's Space Development

We should not under-estimate the increasing number of biomedical problems that occur in humans in space. While Britain has moved out of space developments, including space biomedicine, Japan has developed such programmes. The background to this programme, the present situation and the future trends in the Japanese space program will be discussed at this lecture.

Professor Yajima has not only been instrumental in the present NASDA mission specialist strategy with NASA but has also consulted to the Shimizu Corporation on the concept of space tourism.
