An opportunity to attend the book launch of the British Interplanetary Society’s first monograph entitled "Blue Streak" written by the late Charles Martin, Chief Designer and to buy the book at a specially reduced price for the evening.
The Blue Streak missile was a British ballistic missile development programme of the mid to late-1950s. Following cancellation as a weapons programme it continued under the auspices of the European Launcher Development Organisation (ELDO), Blue Streak becoming the first stage of Europa I launcher with French and German second and third stages.
There were eleven Blue Streak test launches, without a single failure, before the programme was terminated.
